Video is extremely effective in marketing.

We all know that videos get more views and better engagement. But how do you create those videos and turn views into leads?

This is how we do it.

Choose Interesting Topics

The first step we use to create videos that turn into leads is to choose topics that our audience will be interested in.

While that may seem obvious, we have found that the obvious solutions get overlooked because people are always looking for “innovative” solutions. But don’t confuse innovative with good. Just because someone is creating a new method, doesn’t mean that method will work. It’s better to stick with solid topics that perform well than to bet on trying random things just because someone else is using it.

An easy way to find an interesting topic is to find your target market on LinkedIn, Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, or wherever you can find them, and listen to what they are talking about.

Keep the Videos Focused

Next, we keep our videos focused.

But short is not the same thing as focused.

While you do need to keep your videos to a short time-span in order to connect with your audience, it’s more important to keep your videos focused to simple points. Topics that are too big or that seem to wander won’t be finished.

When audiences watch content that is only 2-3 minutes long, they won’t be able to remember super-complex topics. Choosing a single, focused topic that you can easily convey and reinforce over 2 or 3 minutes will make a huge difference.

Include a Call to Action

Getting our audience to watch the videos all the way through is great. But giving them something to follow-through after the video ends is better.

That’s why we include a call to action as part of the end of our videos. We agree that ,“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”

We typically ask our audience to do something small, like download a free worksheet or educational pdf to learn more because shared knowledge helps build a relationship of trust with our prospects.

Your call to action may look a little bit different, but if you aren’t including one, you will not be able to translate your efforts in marketing into actual sales.

Follow Through

The most important part of all of your marketing is your follow-through. We don’t claim to be extraordinary in producing viral content that will be seen by everyone. We focus on producing consistent quality in our content that is targeted at the right audience and is set up for follow-through. We want to build relationships based on trust that will turn into loyal client relationships.
